While a student of environmental economics at Middlebury College, Jake co-founded Brighter Planet, a socially-responsible business that helps consumers and companies manage and reduce their environmental footprints. The company’s flagship products, industry-leading environmental rewards debit and credit card programs issued in partnership with Bank of America and VISA, help cardholders finance community-based renewable energy projects across the U.S. In 2009, in collaboration with experiential events marketing firm ignition, Jake led the development of new sustainable-events guidelines for the Coca-Cola Company. He currently serves as Co-Chair of a development committee for the Convention Industry Council’s Green Meetings and Events Standard – an international standard developed in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to align event leaders with better environmental best-practices.
