Dan Ross
Surfer

What started as a childhood dream to become a Pro Surfer and simply make a living from surfing has quickly evolved into wanting to make a real difference...

Influenced by his stepdad, surf pioneer and movie icon David "Baddy" Treloar, Dan learned the ways of the ocean through fishing and surfing. Living a simple country life, its easy see Baddy's influence in the way Dan lives and surfs today.

A knee injury toward the end of Dan's Junior Surfing career, where he won an Australian Junior Series Title, linked his recovery to nutrition. It wasn't long before Dan was obsessed with organic food and subsequently developed an awareness of conservation and sustainability.

Dan became a member of 1% for the Planet donating 1% of annual income to non-profit, grass root conservation organisations/groups and his unique approach to giving back subsequently lead to him to becoming an Ambassador for 1%.

"Hunting big waves and surfing on the World Tour is what I love to do, it also gives me a great opportunity to ring the environmental alarm bell, call people and companies to action and really make a difference".

Dan also helped develop freshmullet.com with good mates from Angourie, a platform for promoting a new approach to lifestyle, health and sustainability, looking at surfing through fresh eyes.

Dan lives by a few simple rules: Eat Organic, Paddle Deep, Have Fun & Give Back...
