Maya is a sustainability strategist, focusing on business development, communications and marketing strategy for sustainable ventures. She is currently working with the Rainforest Alliance to expand the portfolio of companies that sustainably and efficiently source, sell, and promote major commodity crops from tropical climates. She is an active voice for the green business movement through social media, blogging, and correspondence. She has experience facilitating sustainable development projects in a wide variety of environments, from the corporate headquarters of Williams-Sonoma to the Amazon in Peru. She is also an experienced independent traveler, outdoors woman, and activist who has worked abroad twice and speaks three languages.
