Guillaume has been in the wine & spirits business since 1984, working for Moet Hennessy, before leaving in 1995 to create the Swedish vodka brand, SVEDKA. After building the brand to capture about 7% of the imported vodka market he sold it to Constellation Brands Inc. in 2007.
His new mission, in the same space, is to introduce premium sake to American consumers with the TYKU brand as well as develop craft spirits products such as Aviation Gin, Sombra Mezcal and a few others under Davos Brands LLC, a marketing and distribution platform.
Guillaume believes that the lack of engagement around protecting our environment is astounding; lots of talk and very limited action. As he was looking to help environmental causes he was attracted by 1% for the Planet's incredible potential for crowd-sourcing businesses and consumers behind one flag. His feeling is that 1% for the Planet's model is not only a call to arms, a movement to federalize the efforts of multiple stakeholders passionate about protecting our planet, but it does it through involving businesses committing significant resources on one hand, and consumers who are given a choice in their purchasing decisions on the other hand.
HIs hope is to build 1% for the Planet to be the most recognized leader in the fight to protect our planet and quadruple the amount of money given to environmental causes by 2025. The organization will become the obvious choice for businesses who are looking to step in and take their responsibilities as environmental corporate citizens. In doing so, 1% for the Planet will guide them in choosing which organizations to support and help brands communicate their efforts to their constituents – customers, staff members, suppliers, etc...
As 1% for the Planet grows, Guillaume's hope is to welcome a growing number of individual supporters to become ambassadors throughout the world.
