Individual Account Coordinator

The job:

The Individual Account Coordinator will serve as the primary account manager for 1% for the Planet individual members. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication and customer service skills. This person will need to manage a large number of accounts, prioritizing strong stewardship, while remaining focused on long-term objectives. We view our staff as part of our global movement of businesses, nonprofits and individuals who care deeply about our planet. 1% for the Planet supports all staff members to grow professionally with us, so we seek candidates with a growth mindset and an orientation toward continual improvement.

 Key responsibilities: 

  • Welcome and onboard new individual members into the network
  • Working with your supervisor and your team members to educate yourself on our organization, its policies, our culture as well as all the work that you will be tasked with in this role
  • Serve as the account manager for all individual members with annual 1% commitments of up to $5,000
  • Provide best-in-class account management and customer service for assigned accounts, which includes coordinating regular member outreach and engagement opportunities, as well as supporting nonprofit partnership advising
  • Manage individual member communications—both personalized outreach and automated emails—in collaboration with the Brand & Marketing team
  • Facilitate annual certification and renewal process for individual members, in collaboration with the Certification & Accounting Coordinator
  • Develop new programs and opportunities for members to enhance the individual member experience, in collaboration with the Individual & Corporate Gift Officer
  • Ensure proper use of logo and branding by individual members
  • Maintain accurate records for individual members in the Salesforce database and HubSpot platform, and track trends and opportunities via regular data pulls

This is an exciting moment for the Individual Member program at 1% for the Planet. The program is growing, with new members joining every day, and we are actively working to make the program more impactful for our members and the nonprofits they support. This new position at 1% for the Planet is a critical part of making the program stronger.   • Creative problem-solver and strategic and organized thinker
  • Excellent time-management skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously under a variety of deadlines and other constraints
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and proficiency with regard to handling data and executing reports
  • Results driven; ability to manage and measure work, balancing multiple projects and goals

Location: 1% for the Planet is headquartered in beautiful Burlington, Vermont. Please note that for this position we are accepting both local and remote applicants. This role may be conducted remotely from anywhere within the United States.

Please note: Currently, no 1% for the Planet staff members are required to work in our physical office space, even Vermont-based employees. Our team is currently either working from home or working a closely monitored hybrid schedule between their home and our headquarters. Any work done at our headquarters by 1% for the Planet staff members that choose to utilize the space is closely monitored by our team to ensure safety protocols for COVID-19 are implemented, regularly updated and upheld. We will safely arrange for any Vermont-based hire to be able to use our office space, should they request it. We will also work with any candidates to discuss a remote work schedule that feels most safe to them.
