Kristine joined the 1% for the Planet board because she believes in the model and is committed to strengthening it and helping it grow. 1% creates the forum for a community of passionate businesses and individuals to connect, learn and channel their resources into the environment. It is a unique and critical niche and one that can expand, enabling even more people to get involved and make a meaningful impact.
Kristine brings to 1% for the Planet a wealth of experience in both non-profit management and the environment. Currently she serves as senior vice president of operations at Earthjustice, the premier non-profit environmental law organization. Her role is to lead effective strategic planning, management and evaluation of organizational functions; oversee operations; manage board relations and recruitment; and ensure adequate resources for the long-term sustainability of Earthjustice's mission. Her prior experience includes serving as the executive director of the international water advocacy organization, Waterkeeper Alliance, in New York, New York and vice president for operations at the Conservation Law Foundation in Boston, Massachusetts.
In addition to her environmental background, Kristine had a successful 11-year career at the flagship public broadcasting station WGBH Educational Foundation in Boston, Massachusetts, in a number of administrative and senior management roles.
She holds a Master of Arts in environmental policy and planning from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Boston University. Her passion for environmental and justice issues stems from her rural Maine roots and deep belief that everyone has the right to clean water and a healthy environment.
