Marketing Specialist

The job: 

The Marketing Specialist will combine technical knowledge and analytical thinking with creative execution to optimize and grow our global network while driving the 1% for the Planet mission. As part of the Brand & Marketing team, the Marketing Specialist helps to develop, manage and execute marketing strategies, including website and SEO optimization, inbound marketing funnels, lead generation and paid social media campaigns. The Marketing Specialist will develop expertise working within and optimizing our CMS and CRM tools and strategies—with a focus on HubSpot and Salesforce.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help create, manage, and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns that leverage SEO, social media, inbound marketing, email campaigns, and events to grow customer acquisition
  • Implement inbound marketing content across the website and paid advertising channels, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, AdRoll, Google Ads, etc. 
  • Help manage paid advertising budget
  • Actively brainstorm and propose new ideas for inbound marketing campaigns, lead generation and inbound funnels
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry’s best practices, strategies, and offerings as well as the organization’s competitive landscape and goals
  • Translate data and metrics into insights to inform marketing strategies
  • Analyze and present inbound analytics, managing Google Analytics, HubSpot Analytics and other channels
  • Measure the effectiveness of campaigns against organizational KPIs and marketing goals
  • Monitor key metrics including, but not limited to: website visitors, leads, conversion rate, click-through rate, keyword rankings and channel growth
  • Work closely with Web Designer to implement inbound strategies from lead generation to membership on the website
  • Support website layout/user interfaces using web best practices and SEO-friendly source code
  • Contribute to content creation development and other marketing projects, as needed
  • Working with supervisor and team members, gain knowledge of the company and its policies and culture 

Knowledge, skills and abilities:     

  • Experience with HubSpot (required)
  • Experience with Salesforce (preferred)
  • Experience with Facebook Ads Manager and AdRoll (preferred)
  • Experience working within analytics and reporting tools, such as Google Analytics
  • Results-driven professional with a pulse on best industry practices
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field and/or 2-3 years professional experience in a related field 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop effective inbound marketing and paid social media strategies to drive organizational growth
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) and experience with social media marketing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workplaces
  • Familiarity working within project management tools

Location: 1% for the Planet is headquartered in beautiful Burlington, Vermont. Please note that for this position we are accepting both local and remote applicants. This role may be conducted remotely from anywhere within the United States.

Currently, no 1% for the Planet staff members are required to work in our physical office space, even Vermont-based employees. Our team is currently either working from home or working a closely monitored hybrid schedule between their home and our headquarters. Any work done at our headquarters by 1% for the Planet staff members that choose to utilize the space is closely monitored by our team to ensure safety protocols for COVID-19 are implemented, regularly updated and upheld. We will safely arrange for any Vermont-based hire to be able to use our office space, should they request it. We will also work with any candidates to discuss a remote work schedule that feels most safe to them.
