EMPOWERING CONSUMERS FOR THE GREEN TRANSITION (ECGT) DIRECTIVE

Effective September 27, 2026, 1% for the Planet members selling or marketing to consumers in the EU must use the updated certification marks below. It is the business member’s responsibility to correctly implement the 1% for the Planet brand and logo guidelines in order to be compliant. For more information, please review our ECGT Logo Use Guidelines if your company sells or markets to consumers within the EU.

1% for the Planet owns and uses several trademarks, certification marks and logos, which represent intellectual property rights owned by 1% for the Planet. Our marks, whether registered or unregistered, must be used in accordance with these Brand Guidelines.

Any use of our marks must be truthful, fair and no misleading. Unless a specific license has been granted by 1% for the Planet, our name or marks may not be used in a manner that suggests or implies 1% for the Planet’s endorsement or approval of any person, product, service or activity.

‍1% FOR THE PLANET MEMBERS  & IMPACT PARTNERS:

‍The 1% for the Planet membership agreement and impact partner agreement includes a license to use 1% for the Planet marks for authorized purposes. Business members and impact partners should refer to this agreement for additional details on permissible uses.

Primary logos

The 1% for the Planet primary logo is our most commonly used variant. It’s the logo that we use to represent our global community. 1% for the Planet members may use this logo to showcase their annual commitment; however, it should not be used whenever products are marketed to consumers in the EU (see below sections on compliant seals). It can be used everywhere else globally.

The proportions of this logo may not be altered in any way. Please use provided art files only.

The full color version of our logo is NOT permitted to be altered in any way–including coloration.

The one color version of our logo does not include the land  and sea design, and the color CAN be customized to suit packaging needs.

When choosing an alternative color for the one color logo, make sure it is consistent through the globe icon and word mark.

Make sure to select a color that maximizes legibility against it’s background.

The 1% FOR THE PLANET CERTIFIED BUSINESS seal upholds the highest standard for global compliance and is the only logo that should be used on packaging, marketing materials and at point of sale within the EU. 1% for the Planet business members can only use this certification seal once they’ve successfully certified a fiscal year.

Impact Partner seal

Impact partners can utilize this seal on their websites and social media to signal to businesses and individuals that they're eligible for donations through 1% for the Planet membership. Our logo gives your organization added credibility from a third-party certification, and the placement on your website helps us grow our movement. It's a win-win.

WORD MARKS

1% for the Planet®

PRIMARY LOGOS

The 1% for the Planet primary logo is comprised of two elements: the “globe” logo icon and the word mark. The proportions of these elements may not be altered in any way. The ‘1% for the Planet’ word mark may not be altered or translated into any other language. Please use provided art files only.

The impact partner seal is designed for nonprofit and enterprise impact partners to use on their websites and social media to share that they are eligible for donations through 1% for the Planet membership.

CERTIFIED BUSINESS SEAL

The certified business seals are our most globally compliant mark for business members. This seal may only be used by businesses that have completed a full year of certification with 1% for the Planet. While all certified businesses may use this seal, the Certified Business seal is required for any business selling directly to consumers in the EU.

This seal may only be used for products that have completed a full year of certification with 1% for the Planet.
