1% for the Planet vets environmental organizations within our network and when a natural disaster occurs, we expand our list of organizations to include those working on the ground to respond immediately.
Action for Humanity (AFH) is delivering urgent humanitarian relief to communities affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan. Our support includes food assistance, hot meals, clean water, WASH-dignity kits, emergency shelter, and livelihood recovery, alongside resilience-building measures such as early-warning systems and community adaptation programs. These interventions have brought relief to thousands, yet millions remain in urgent need of life-saving assistance and climate-resilient recovery.
We are distributing thousands of membrane water filters and providing WASH education and filter training to ensure they are used and maintained correctly. When maintained, each filter can provide approximately 400 gallons of clean water every day and last 10-12 years. Our filters remove 99.99999% of all bacteria, protozoa, and turbidity - anything causing waterborne illnesses, such as cholera, E. coli, and typhoid. Using a membrane filter for our disaster response alleviates the need for hundreds of thousands of single-use plastic bottles.
Wine To Water has been providing ongoing disaster relief, water access, and WASH education in Pakistan since the catastrophic flooding in 2022.
