Kate Williams
CEO
Kate Williams is CEO of 1% for the Planet, a global movement that inspires action and commitment so our planet and future generations thrive. In more than a decade of leadership, Kate has scaled 1% for the Planet’s impact to more than $820 million in certified giving to environmental solutions. A dedicated changemaker, Kate was a 2025 MO 100 Top Impact CEO and 2025 Real Leaders Top Keynote Speaker, and received Chief’s 2024 New Era of Leadership Award. She’s also a mom to two grown children and an avid trail runner, living in Vermont with her husband and their dog. Kate earned a BA at Princeton University and an MS at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and has served on a variety of Boards throughout her career. Kate is Mom to two amazing young adults, 30-year partner with her husband, and is a trail runner, hiker with her dog and kitchen gardener.

Allyson Bartlett
VP, Brand and Marketing
Allyson is the VP of Brand & Marketing and has been at 1% for the Planet since 2018 building an in-house team, growing the global brand and driving record scale and impact. Before 1%, Allyson worked in communications & brand strategy at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, earning her master's in business administration and recognition as a Vermont Rising Stars under 40. Due to her passion for the environment, Allyson was motivated to bring her background at a member-driven, nonprofit to 1% for the Planet. Allyson lives with her husband, son and cat at Bolton Valley Ski Resort, where they enjoy hosting—whether it be in the kitchen or out on the slopes. She and her husband also own a photobooth business, which takes them to many spectacular events—allowing them to meet new people and acquire an outlandish costume collection and vintage vans.

Jaclyn McCarthy
Director, Brand and Marketing
Jaclyn joined 1% for the Planet in 2018. As the organization’s Director of Brand & Marketing, she oversees the organization’s brand strategy, creative direction, communications and event management. During her tenure, the 1% for the Planet brand has experienced remarkable growth. Prior to 1% for the Planet, Jaclyn earned a BA degree in Media & Journalism at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2016, she began her career at Fuse Marketing, where she honed her skills in experiential marketing and brand strategy. Today, Jaclyn is a dynamic professional with a knack for purpose-driven marketing and a zest for life's many adventures.

Mark Steinbuck
Senior Director of Impact Programs
Mark oversees partnership advising and the creation and enforcement of vetting standards. An author with a master’s degree in Human-Environment Interactions from Colorado State and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Mark has a background in outdoor industry corporate responsibility and business, as well as program and project management at grassroots organizations. Based in Madison, WI, with his wife Annie, kids Ivan and Jela, and a menagerie of pets, he is a musician, fly angler and camper of the lakes and forests of the Upper Midwest.

Kiera Murphy
Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager
Kiera leads the development and execution of high-level global partnerships to further the organization's mission and movement. Since joining in 2021, she's helped scale the organization's global network. Previously, Kiera led the award-winning sustainability strategy at 4 Pines Brewing Company in Sydney, Australia, and consulted with businesses of all sizes navigating their sustainability journeys. With a master's in public policy and international experience from Jordan to India to her home state of California, Kiera brings a truly global lens to environmental action.
