The partnership creates new pathways for outdoor industry companies to support environmental causes across Europe and the United States

July 1, 2025—We are excited to announce a new strategic partnership with the European Outdoor Group (EOG) that will strengthen environmental efforts across the outdoor industry on both sides of the Atlantic.

This collaboration brings together our global network of thousands of businesses with EOG's 150+ members representing Europe's outdoor sector. Together, we're creating new opportunities for companies to make environmental impact easier, more effective and more collaborative.

What this partnership means

Under this new agreement, EOG has joined 1% for the Planet as an Environmental Partner, while we've become an Associate Member of the EOG. This reciprocal relationship creates meaningful benefits for members of both organizations:

  • EOG members can now count their membership fees toward their annual 1% for the Planet commitment, making it easier than ever to reach their environmental giving goals
  • Existing 1% for the Planet members can direct their contributions toward EOG's sustainability initiatives, including decarbonization projects, responsible consumption programs and environmental education
  • Both networks gain access to enhanced insights about environmental solutions and best practices from Europe and the United States

Amplifying global environmental action

This partnership reinforces a crucial truth: Protecting our planet requires global cooperation. By combining our networks and expertise, we're demonstrating that the outdoor industry—which depends on healthy natural environments—can lead by example in environmental responsibility.

As EOG President (and CEO of 1% for the Planet member ICEBUG) David Ekelund noted, "It feels like we're now both members of 'team one planet' and this will be reflected in the work that we go on to do together."
