This 1% for the Planet webinar covers how to market your corporate philanthropy confidently and compliantly
If your brand sells or markets to consumers in the European Union, this deadline should be top of mind right now: The Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT) Directive takes effect Sept. 27, 2026.
The ECGT Directive (also called the EmpCo Directive) shifts how environmental claims and sustainability labels can be used, including claims tied to corporate giveback programs and environmental certifications like 1% for the Planet. It applies to any company marketing or selling products or services to EU consumers in a B2C context, regardless of where that company is headquartered.
And the stakes are no joke: Non-compliance carries fines of up to 4% of annual turnover in the relevant EU member state.
The good news? 1% for the Planet is here to help. Our “Navigating Compliance in the EU” webinar covers everything you need to know to feel clear and prepared going into September.
An easy-to-understand overview of ECGT (aka EmpCo)
In the recording, our team walks through the basics of the ECGT Directive, what compliant and non-compliant marketing looks like for giveback programs, and how 1% for the Planet membership can serve as a ECGT compliance solution—giving you a credible, verifiable framework for communicating your environmental impact with confidence.
If your brand has an impact story to tell, this webinar is a must as you wrap your head around the forthcoming changes.
