Bold action can’t wait—so we designed the Planet Impact Fund to accelerate environmental solutions by combining impact investing and strategic grantmaking. We’re excited to announce that the Planet Impact Fund made grants to four 1% for the Planet Environmental Partners this year.
We know that the scale and urgency of the environmental challenges we face are monumental. And we also know that collective action is the answer to combating these challenges. Impact investments and grants for nature-based solutions, greenhouse gas reduction and environmental justice are three pillars we’ve identified that can drive change at scale—quickly, and for the long-term. The Planet Impact Fund, which we launched in April 2022, ensures that funding flows to organizations at the forefront of addressing these issues.
Last year, we selected these four 1% for the Planet Environmental Partners through a rigorous vetting process to receive funding from the Planet Impact Fund. Now, these organizations have received their first grants, powering essential work that will uplift people and the vital ecosystems across Rwanda, Costa Rica, Australia and the United States.
Kula Project

Kula Project develops entrepreneurs in Rwanda’s coffee communities. Aiming to break the cycle of poverty, the organization equips women with business skills, agricultural tools and leadership training.
Osa Conservation

Osa Conservation collaborates with local communities, government officials and global leaders to establish a climate-adaptive biodiversity corridor across Costa Rica. Working across more than 1.3 million acres to reconnect fragmented forests and wildlife habitats, Osa Conservation’s work is guided by science and designed for landscape-level impact.
Karrkad Kanjdji Trust

Karrkad Kanjdji Trust supports First Nations communities in Australia’s Northern Territory. Working in Arnhem Land, the organization helps restore fire-managed savannas and protect endangered species in one of the world’s most biodiverse regions.
Groundwork USA

Groundwork USA leads a network of people-centered environmental justice organizations—called Groundwork Trusts—that advance strategies to increase health and well-being for all. By transforming disinvested urban areas into thriving green spaces, the team improves the climate resilience of neighborhoods across the United States.
