It’s safe to say the opportunities are endless when your business is part of a global network of more than 8,200 brands and environmental organizations.

With nearly seven years of 1% for the Planet membership under its belt, Icebug has learned the ropes of how to activate its membership to its fullest potential. Below are some of the great things Icebug has done, and how you can do them, too.

1. Show off your 1% for the Planet membership on your website

When consumers shop online, putting your 1% for the Planet commitment front and center on your website is one of the best ways to showcase your impact throughout the buyer’s journey.

Icebug’s Impact page offers a deep look at its environmental work, including its 1% for the Planet membership.

The page dives into high-value topics: what 1% for the Planet membership means, which environmental areas they focus on and how much they’ve contributed to specific 1% for the Planet Impact Partners. For example, Icebug calls out its milestone of contributing SEK 1,000,000 to forest conservation, supporting impact partners like Naturavet.

Drawing from your annual reports is a great way to synthesize your data and drop in compelling stories to back up your environmental impact.

If your brand already does annual impact reporting, you can use this page as a summary of your most impactful stories and wins.

If you don't, try working with your 1% for the Planet Impact Partners to develop metrics or examples that demonstrate the outcomes your support has made possible. These will make the power of your 1% for the Planet commitment come to life for your audience.

2. Use 1% for the Planet membership as the inspiration for your campaigns

Whether you’re celebrating a seasonal holiday like Earth Day or a milestone like your 10th year in business, 1% for the Planet membership offers a meaningful way to connect with values-aligned customers.

Icebug took a spin on Black Friday in 2025, and instead of marking down prices like many competitors, the brand donated 100% of its sales from November 28 to various impact partners. At the end of the campaign, Icebug split SEK 1,200,000 between organizations like WWF, Conservation Lands Foundation and Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.

3. Talk about 1% for the Planet membership in thought leadership and event programming

When 1% for the Planet partnered with European Outdoor Group (EOG) in 2025, David Ekelund—Icebug’s CEO and EOG’s President—co-hosted a fireside chat with the organizations. 1% for the Planet CEO Kate Williams, EOG Director Christian Schneidermeier and David discussed the importance of collective action and how 1% for the Planet, among other impact partners, is driving change together by convening networks.

Make it easy for your leadership and employees to celebrate your 1% for the Planet commitment on and off of event stages by keeping the team up to date with talking points about your 1% for the Planet membership. (Explore more thought leadership guidance here.)
